Chronology
- 1930s
The first form of the Park began to take shape as early as the early 1930s. At that time, about 50% of its area was formed, in its southwestern part, according to the standards of the French gardening style with a characteristic symmetry. The main elements of this configuration include the construction of a fountain in the center of an elaborate hand-made pebble cobblestone with small cobbles, clearly demarcated with boxwood flower beds and other symmetrical plantings. - 1951
According to the topographic diagrame of and the table list of the Land Registry Book of Municipalities and Communities, Municipal Park of Naoussa belongs to the Municipality of Naoussa. The Park is located within the city urban plan and is characterized as "GREEN-FREE SPACES", according to the approved GIS-Government Gazette 289 / AAP / 2010. -
1959
In 1959 the designer Mr Vasilios Palaskas wrote: "… (in the configuration) generally dominates a free line, so that most of the Park would take a form of nice harmonious and comfortable landscaping scheme, instead of a cold arrangement of the planting material, planted in strict geometric shapes, so that we have "a live painting" ... "and our plants are not lined up as cold exhibits of a natural museum".The new configuration respected the situation formed so far in the implemented part of the plan of '30s and integrated it into its own logic, "breaking" only the rigid symmetry and linearity of that design,
This particular area is part of the cultural heritage and history of the city. At the same time, it expresses an entire era for the data of Greek Park Architecture and Landscape Architecture in general. For the city itself it has a special topological and emotional value, since it is a historical place of decisive, spatial, gravity and importance, a rare monument of Greek landscape architecture and a place of special botanical interest, at the same time .The Municipal Park of Naoussa has elements that, without having great material value, often acquire great aesthetic and functional value, in the way they were used. A typical example is the railing on the "balcony" of the Park, which is made before 1950 from solid iron forged studs which had been used in the joints (no welds).
