Chronology
The main reforms of the garden area -designed in the 19th century by the French landscaper “Dorgambide” - were carried out in the 70s of the 20th century by Victoriano Piñeiro Acosta and Maruxa Lago Paulos, parents of the current owners. They were in charge of recovering the existing flora in the garden, promoting the collection of camellias from the 19th century and creating the great collection that the botanical park now has, with more than 2000 varieties of about 80 species and other plants imported from different parts of the world, Albariña grape vineyards and, in 2008, the Camellia sinensis plantation, the Tea Garden, was made.

It has an application with augmented reality to disseminate and publicize the camellias of the Pazo Quinteiro da Cruz Botanical Garden. Nature, botanical heritage and new technologies come together in Camelias RA, a mobile application that generates a technological experience in a physical environment of the real world, where the elements are superimposed or combined with virtual elements to create a mixed reality in real time, that allows in an innovative, creative and fresh way to enjoy the flowering of the camellia throughout the year.
