Organized by the European Fairy Tale Route, the ERHG patronized the celebration of the World’s Children Day
The Celebration event took place at the premises of Pinocchio Park in Collodi, Pescia, on November 20th, 2022.

The National Foundation Carlo Collodi, partner of the ERHG, was the host of this important event that met representatives of two Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, the European Route of Historic Gardens, and the European Fairy Tale Route.
Pinocchio Park and Garzoni Garden
During the event a mulberry tree, the vegetable preferred by silkworms, was planted in the Pinocchio Park in Collodi. Pinocchio Park and Garzoni Garden share the same location in Collodi, and the National Foundation Carlo Collodi is at the same time promoter of the European Fairy Tale Route and partner of the European Route of Historic Gardens.
Lectures were given by Professor Marina D’ Amato, representing the European Fairy Tale Route and Professor Maria Adriana Giusti, representing the European Route of Historic Gardens. The event also counted with the participation of lecturers Mrs. Cristina Pantera (PhD), representing the Foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Pistoia e Pescia; Mrs. Oria Mechelli, manager of ISI “Sismondi-Pacinotti” (Pescia); Mrs. Lucia Giachini and Valentina Grazzini, teachers, and Mr. Vannino Vannucci (PhD), representing Vivaio Vannucci Piante Pistoia.
The symbolism of involving the Mulberry Tree, the Historic Garzoni Garden and the magic of Pinocchio Park highlights the meeting point between the Silk Routes Itinerary, the European Route of Historic Gardens, and the European Fairy Tale Route.
The European Route of Historic Gardens is very grateful for having celebrated World Children's Day together with the European Fairy Tale Route!
