María holds a Diploma in Business Sciences by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Degree in Business Administration and Direction by the Universidad de Ávila. She has a postgrade in Heritage Preservation and Conservation by the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares and a postgrade in Local Economic development and tourism by the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares.
María is the Director of Aranjuez Cultural Landscape Foundation (2011 to nowadays), in charge of the representation, dissemination, and communication of Aranjuez Cultural Landscape included in UNESCO list since 2001. She is also the General Secretary of the Alliance of World Heritage Cultural Landscapes, including 7 Iberian WH sites (Alhambra de Granada, Las Médulas, El Palmeral de Elche, Ibiza, Sierra de Tramuntana en Mallorca, Paisaje Cultural de Sintra and Paisaje Cultural de Aranjuez). She is also member of the Board of Directors of the European network of Historic Gardens.
