Mónica Luengo
ICOMOS-IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes
Monica is Honorary member of the ICOMOS-IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes, of which she was president between 2009 and 2015. She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Institut Européen de Jardins et Paysages and the Instituto de Estudios Madrileños (CSIC) and Vice President of ICOMOS Spain. She has directed a Master in Cultural and Natural Heritage at the International University of Andalusia and collaborated with various universities and international organizations, and directed and participated in numerous courses and conferences on cultural landscapes and historical gardens.
Mónica is a consultant on issues related to World Heritage, she has carried out assessment, advisory and monitoring missions for World Heritage sites. Her research has focused on cultural landscapes and historical gardens. She has published books and articles on cultural landscapes, World Heritage, historical gardens, restoration, etc. Historian and landscape architect, she has also carried out projects and restorations for parks and gardens.
